Glass and Lies

Why do we choose the paths in life we do? A chance encounter with an enchanted mirror invites one aged sorceress to reflect on the course of her life - and defend her choices against her most dangerous enemy.

This story further explores the character of Nepenthe, the unusual necromancer introduced in my previous OPR Writing Jam submission, The Book of Nepenthe. I was so taken with Nepenthe's character that I wanted to explore a little bit more of who she is, and I couldn't resist the opportunity for 'reflection'!
